s 56 Notification of merger
(1) A party involved in a merger which applies for the merger to be considered under this section shall—
(a) notify the Commission of the merger; and
(b) apply to it for a decision.
(2) Subject to sections 59 and 62, on an application under this section, the Commission may make a decision as to—
(a) whether the prohibition in section 54 has been infringed; and
(b) if it has not been infringed, whether that is—
(i) because of the effect of an exclusion;
(ii) because the merger is exempted from the prohibition under subsection 59(2); or
(iii) because an undertaking has been accepted pursuant to section 62.
(3) A reference in any provision of this Act to an application or a notification under section 56 shall include a reference to an application or a notification under section 55 that the Commission treats as an application or a notification under section 56 pursuant to subsection 55(5).

Pemberitahuan percantuman
(1) Suatu pihak yang terlibat dalam suatu percantuman yang memohon supaya percantuman itu dipertimbangkan di bawah seksyen ini hendaklah—
(a) memberitahu Suruhanjaya mengenai percantuman itu; dan
(b) memohon kepadanya bagi suatu keputusan.
(2) Tertakluk kepada seksyen 59 dan 62, atas suatu permohonan di bawah seksyen ini, Suruhanjaya boleh membuat keputusan mengenai―
(a) sama ada larangan dalam seksyen 54 telah dilanggar; dan
(b) jika larangan itu tidak dilanggar, sama ada hal itu—
(i) disebabkan oleh kesan suatu pengecualian;
(ii) disebabkan oleh percantuman itu dikecualikan daripada larangan di bawah subseksyen 59(2); atau
(iii) disebabkan oleh suatu aku janji telah diterima menurut seksyen 62.
(3) Suatu sebutan dalam mana-mana peruntukan Akta ini mengenai permohonan atau pemberitahuan di bawah seksyen 56 hendaklah termasuk sebutan mengenai permohonan atau pemberitahuan di bawah seksyen 55 yang dianggap oleh Suruhanjaya sebagai permohonan atau pemberitahuan di bawah seksyen 56 menurut subseksyen 55(5).
