(1) The Minister shall, in relation to each member appointed under paragraphs 5(1)(b) and (c), appoint a person to be an alternate member to attend, as an alternate to such member, meetings of the Authority when such member is unable to attend for any reason.
(2) An alternate member who attends the meetings of the Authority shall, for all purposes, be deemed to be a member of the Authority.
(3) An alternate member shall, unless he sooner resigns his office or his appointment is sooner revoked, cease to be an alternate member when the member in respect of whom he is an alternate member ceases to be a member of the Authority. Tenure of office

(1) Menteri hendaklah, berhubung dengan setiap anggota yang dilantik di bawah perenggan 5(1)(b) dan (c), melantik seseorang menjadı anggota silih ganti untuk menghadiri, sebagai ganti kepada anggota itu, mesyuarat Pihak Berkuasa apabila anggota itu tidak dapat hadir kerana apa-apa sebab.
(2) Seorang anggota silih ganti yang menghadiri mesyuarat Pihak Berkuasa hendaklah, bagi segala maksud, disifatkan sebagai seorang anggota Pihak Berkuasa.
(3) Seorang anggota silih ganti hendaklah, melainkan jika dia meletakkan jawatannya terlebih dahulu atau pelantikannya dibatalkan terlebih dahulu, terhenti menjadi anggota silih ganti apabila anggota yang berkenaan dengannya dia menjadi anggota silih ganti terhenti menjadi anggota Pihak Berkuasa.
