SEC. 85. Incentives and Awards. - In consultation with the Maritime Industry Tripartite Council (MITC), the concerned government agency shall establish and administer an incentive and awards system for maritime industry stakeholders. Deserving shipowners, seafarers, manning agencies, and other organizations or entities shall be commended or awarded for their outstanding performance in upholding seafarers' rights and complying with this Act and its IRR. The educational background and expertise of a seafarer on board vessels and previous sea-service shall be given due consideration should they opt to join the Philippine Navy Reserve Force.
