s 15B Limit on deduction allowed for leasing or licensing expenditure in 2021

15B.—(1) No deduction is allowed in respect of any expenditure incurred in the year 2021 by a person who is a lessee or licensee of any prescribed property on the leasing or licensing of that property, of an amount described in subsection (2).[27/2021] (2) The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is the amount of any monetary payment received or receivable by the person from the person’s lessor or licensor in the year 2021, which —(a) is made by the lessor or licensor pursuant to an undertaking given by the lessor or licensor to his, her or its lessor or licensor, to provide relief to the person from any economic hardship arising from a COVID‑19 event; or (b) the Comptroller is satisfied is intended by the lessor or licensor to provide relief to the person from any economic hardship arising from a COVID‑19 event.[27/2021] (3) In this section, “COVID‑19 event”, “monetary payment” and “prescribed property” have the meanings given by section 13X(6).[27/2021] —(1) No deduction is allowed in respect of any expenditure incurred in the year 2021 by a person who is a lessee or licensee of any prescribed property on the leasing or licensing of that property, of an amount described in subsection (2).[27/2021] (2) The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is the amount of any monetary payment received or receivable by the person from the person’s lessor or licensor in the year 2021, which —(a) is made by the lessor or licensor pursuant to an undertaking given by the lessor or licensor to his, her or its lessor or licensor, to provide relief to the person from any economic hardship arising from a COVID‑19 event; or (b) the Comptroller is satisfied is intended by the lessor or licensor to provide relief to the person from any economic hardship arising from a COVID‑19 event.[27/2021] (3) In this section, “COVID‑19 event”, “monetary payment” and “prescribed property” have the meanings given by section 13X(6).[27/2021]
