The waste management plan may include provision about any of the following, taking into account the geographical area to which the plan relates— (a) organisational aspects related to waste management including a description of the allocation of responsibilities between public and private operators carrying out waste management; (b) an evaluation of the usefulness and suitability of the use of economic and other means of tackling various waste problems; (c) the use of awareness campaigns and information provision directed at the general public or at a specific set of consumers; and (d) measures for the remediation of historical contaminated waste disposal sites.
