s 72 Part VII—supplementary.

(1) In this Part of this Act— “ copy ”, in relation to a document, means anything onto which information recorded in the document has been copied, by whatever means and whether directly or indirectly, and “ statement ” means any representation of fact, however made; and “ proceedings ” means criminal proceedings, including service proceedings. (1A) In subsection (1) “ service proceedings ” means proceedings before a court (other than a civilian court) in respect of a service offence; and “service offence” and “civilian court” here have the same meanings as in the Armed Forces Act 2006. (2) Nothing in this Part of this Act shall prejudice any power of a court to exclude evidence (whether by preventing questions from being put or otherwise) at its discretion.
