(2) After that subsection there shall be inserted— (6A) In this section “ local authority accommodation ” means accommodation provided by or on behalf of a local authority (within the meaning of the Children Act 1989). (6B) Where an arrested juvenile is moved to local authority accommodation under subsection (6) above, it shall be lawful for any person acting on behalf of the authority to detain him. (3) In subsection (8) of that section for the words “Children and Young Persons Act 1969" there shall be substituted “ Children Act 1989" ” .
