Any appointment of a person to be a guardian of a child— (a) which was made as mentioned in paragraph 12(1)(a)(i); but (b) which, immediately before the commencement of section 5, had not taken effect, shall take effect in accordance with section 5 (as modified, where it applies, by paragraph 8(2)).
