s 185 Service of stop notices by Secretary of State.
(1) If it appears to the Secretary of State to be expedient that a stop notice should be served in respect of any land, he may himself serve such a notice. (2) A notice served by the Secretary of State under subsection (1) shall have the same effect as if it had been served by the local planning authority. (3) The Secretary of State shall not serve such a notice without consulting the local planning authority.
