In section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1987 (director’s investigation powers), after subsection (6) there is inserted— (6A) Where an appropriate person accompanies a constable, he may exercise the powers conferred by subsection (5) but only in the company, and under the supervision, of the constable.
