National Health Service Act 2006 s 82

s 82 Co-operation between NHS bodies and local authorities

(1) In exercising their respective functions NHS bodies (on the one hand) and local authorities (on the other) must co-operate with one another in order to secure and advance the health and welfare of the people of England and Wales. (2) The Secretary of State may publish guidance on the discharge of the duty under this section in relation to England. (3) The following must have regard to any guidance published under subsection (2) — (a) an NHS body other than a Welsh NHS body; (b) a local authority in England. (4) In this section “ Welsh NHS body ” means— (a) an NHS trust established under the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006, (b) a Special Health Authority established under that Act, or (c) a Local Health Board.
