reg 3 Interpretation
(1) In these Regulations, “the 2013 Directive” means Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation, and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/29/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom. (2) Subject to paragraph (2A), expressions and words used in both these Regulations and the 2013 Directive have the same meaning for the purposes of these Regulations as they do in that Directive, whether or not they are defined in Article 4 of that Directive. (2A) When reading the 2013 Directive for the purposes of these Regulations, Article 4(43) (definition of inspection) is to be read as if, for the words “any competent authority”, there were substituted “the Justifying Authority”. (3) The following table shows other provisions defining expressions for the purposes of these Regulations—
