reg 91 Witnesses eligible for assistance on grounds of fear or distress about testifying
(1) A witness (other than a defendant) is eligible for assistance by virtue of this rule if the judge advocate is satisfied that the quality of evidence given by the witness is likely to be diminished by reason of fear or distress on the part of the witness in connection with testifying in the proceedings. (2) A witness is also eligible for assistance by virtue of this rule if— (a) the proceedings are in respect of— (i) a sexual offence; (ii) a modern slavery offence; or (iii) any other offence where it is alleged that the behaviour of the defendant amounted to domestic abuse ; (b) the witness is a complainant in respect of that offence; and (c) the witness has not informed the court of the witness's wish not to be so eligible.
