The Railways (Interoperability) Regulations 2011 reg 34B

reg 34B UK national accreditation body

(1) The Secretary of State may authorise the UK national accreditation body to carry out the following activities on behalf of the Secretary of State— (a) assessing whether a body meets the approved body or designated body requirements; (b) exercising functions in accordance with regulation 31; (c) compiling and maintaining the register of approved bodies in accordance with regulation 34A. (2) In this regulation— “RAMS” means Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 339/93 ; “UK national accreditation body” means the body appointed by the Secretary of State in accordance with Article 4 of RAMS.
