(1) Section 148 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (harming a animal research organisation or intimidating a connected person: definition of “animal research organisation”) is amended as follows. (2) In subsection (1), after “subsection” insert “(1A),”. (3) After subsection (1) insert— (1A) A person or organisation falls within this subsection if the person or organisation holds a licence granted under section 2C of the 1986 Act (licensing of undertakings involving the use of animals for scientific procedures). (4) In subsection (2), for the words from “including” to the end of the subsection substitute “including a place specified in a licence granted under that section or under section 5 of the 1986 Act (licensing of projects involving the use of animals for scientific procedures).” (5) In subsection (3)— (a) before paragraph (a) insert— (za) the holder of a licence granted under section 2C of the 1986 Act, (zb) a person specified under section 2C(5) of that Act, (b) at the end of paragraph (a), insert “or”; (c) omit paragraphs (c) and (d).
