For the purposes of this Code, a “victim” is: (1) a natural person who has suffered harm, including physical, mental or emotional harm or economic loss which was directly caused by a criminal offence ; (2) a close relative (see definitions in Part 6 of this Code) of a person whose death was directly caused by a criminal offence and who has suffered harm as a result of that person’s death.
