s 9 Buying lottery ticket
(1) Any person who either personally or by an agent pays or deposits any money or money’s worth to or with any person concerned in the business of a common gaming house as a stake or for or in respect of any event or contingency connected with a public lottery or buys a lottery ticket shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding *five thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
(2) A person in whose possession a lottery ticket is found shall be presumed until the contrary is proved to have bought the same.
(3) Every lottery ticket brought or introduced into or being within the Federation shall be forfeited to the Government and it shall be the duty of every police officer or other public servant to seize every such ticket wherever found.

Membeli tiket loteri
(1) Mana-mana orang yang sama ada dengan sendirinya atau melalui seseorang ejen membayar atau mendepositkan apa-apa wang atau nilaian wang kepada atau dengan mana-mana orang yang terlibat dalam urusan suatu rumah perjudian terbuka sebagai suatu tagan atau bagi atau berkenaan dengan apa-apa kejadian atau kontingensi berkaitan dengan loteri awam atau membeli tiket loteri melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh, apabila disabitkan, *didenda tidak melebihi lima ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan bagi tempoh tidak melebihi enam bulan atau kedua-duanya.
(2) Seseorang yang dalam milikannya sesuatu tiket loteri didapati hendaklah dianggap sehingga dibuktikan sebaliknya sebagai telah membeli tiket loteri itu.
(3) Tiap-tiap tiket loteri yang dibawa atau diperkenalkan ke dalam atau berada di dalam Persekutuan hendaklah dilucuthakkan kepada Kerajaan dan ia adalah menjadi kewajipan tiap-tiap pegawai polis atau pekhidmat awam yang lain untuk menyita tiap-tiap tiket sedemikian di mana jua didapati.
