s 16 Payment and recovery of hospital expenses by employer
(1) It shall be the duty of every employer to provide for every worker employed on an estate including his dependants who reside on such estate or on any other land owned or leased by or is within the control of the employer, medical attendance, care and treatment including diet at the estate hospital or group estate hospital established under section 15 or at the estate clinic established under section 19.
NOTEβThe Private Hospitals Act 1971 [Act 43] has since been repealed by the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 [Act 586]βsee section 119 of Act 586.
(2) The employer may recover from such worker the expenses of such care, treatment and maintenance at such rate as the Minister may from time to time prescribe by notification in the Gazette in respect of any period in excess of 30 days during which such worker or any of his dependants shall have remained in the hospital.

Bayaran dan mendapatkan kembali perbelanjaan hospital oleh majikan
(1) Hendaklah menjadi kewajipan tiap-tiap majikan untuk menyediakan bagi tiap-tiap pekerja yang diambil kerja di suatu estet termasuk tanggungannya yang tinggal di estet itu atau mana-mana tanah lain yang dipunyai atau dipajak oleh atau dalam kawalan majikan itu, layanan, jagaan dan rawatan perubatan termasuk sajian makanan di hospital estet atau hospital estet kumpulan yang ditubuhkan di bawah seksyen 15 atau di klinik estet yang ditubuhkan di bawah seksyen 19.
(2) Majikan boleh mendapatkan kembali daripada pekerja itu perbelanjaan bagi jagaan, rawatan dan sara hidup pada apa-apa kadar sebagaimana yang ditetapkan oleh Menteri dari semasa ke semasa melalui pemberitahuan dalam Warta berkenaan dengan mana-mana tempoh melebihi tiga puluh hari yang pekerja itu atau mana-mana tanggungannya berada di dalam hospital.
