s 20 Duty to report suspected cases of infectious disease
(1) It shall be the duty of the resident registered medical practitioner, or, in his absence or if there is no resident registered medical practitioner, the resident manager, to isolate at once any worker or other person on an estate whom he may suspect to be suffering from any infectious disease as defined in the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 [Act 342], and to detain under observation any other person whom he may deem likely to have contracted such disease and with the least possible delay to notify the nearest Medical Officer, and pending the arrival on the estate of the Medical Officer of Health, the resident registered medical practitioner or the resident manager shall take appropriate preventive measures and thereafter consult the Medical Officer of Health on any further action to be taken.
(2) Any person who neglects to perform the duty imposed upon him by subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit and to a further fine of one hundred ringgit a day for each day during which the offence continues.

Kewajipan melaporkan kes yang disyaki penyakit berjangkit
(1) Hendaklah menjadi kewajipan pengamal perubatan residen yang berdaftar atau, dalam ketidakhadirannya atau jika tiada pengamal perubatan residen yang berdaftar, pengurus residen, untuk mengasingkan dengan serta-merta mana-mana pekerja atau orang lain di suatu estet yang disyakinya menghidap apa-apa penyakit berjangkit sebagaimana yang ditakrifkan dalam Akta Pencegahan dan Kawalan Penyakit Berjangkit 1988 [Akta 342], dan untuk menahan di bawah pemerhatian mana-mana orang lain yang difikirkannya berkemungkinan telah mendapat penyakit itu dan dengan secepat mungkin memberitahu Pegawai Perubatan yang terdekat, dan sementara menunggu ketibaan Pegawai Perubatan Kesihatan ke estet itu, pengamal perubatan residen yang berdaftar atau pengurus residen hendaklah mengambil langkah pencegahan yang sesuai dan selepas itu berunding dengan Pegawai Perubatan Kesihatan tentang apa-apa tindakan selanjutnya yang perlu diambil.
(2) Mana-mana orang yang mengabaikan pelaksanaan kewajipan yang dikenakan ke atasnya oleh subseksyen (1) melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh, apabila disabitkan, didenda tidak melebihi lima puluh ribu ringgit dan didenda selanjutnya sebanyak satu ribu ringgit sehari bagi setiap hari kesalahan itu berterusan.
