s 8 Contravention of protection order
(1) Any person who wilfully contravenes a protection order or any provision thereof shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
(2) Any person who wilfully contravenes a protection order by using violence on a protected person shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding four thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
(3) Any person who is convicted for a second or subsequent violation of a protection order under subsection (2) shall be punished with imprisonment for a period of not less than seventy-two hours and
not more than two years, and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit.
(4) For the purposes of this section a βprotection orderβ includes an interim protection order.

Pelanggaran perintah perlindungan
(1) Mana-mana orang yang dengan sengaja melanggar suatu perintah perlindungan atau mana-mana peruntukannya melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh, apabila disabitkan, didenda tidak melebihi dua ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi enam bulan atau kedua-duanya.
(2) Mana-mana orang yang dengan sengaja melanggar suatu perintah perlindungan dengan menggunakan keganasan ke atas orang dilindungi boleh, apabila disabitkan, didenda tidak melebihi empat ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi satu tahun atau kedua-duanya.
(3) Mana-mana orang yang disabitkan atas pelanggaran kali kedua atau berikutnya sesuatu perintah perlindungan di bawah subseksyen (2) hendaklah dihukum dengan pemenjaraan selama tempoh tidak kurang daripada tujuh puluh dua jam dan tidak lebih daripada dua tahun, dan boleh juga didenda tidak melebihi lima ribu ringgit.
(4) Bagi maksud seksyen ini, βperintah perlindunganβ termasuklah perintah perlindungan interim.
