s 53 Compensation for certain heritage object
(1) On the discovery of any object having cultural heritage significance, the Commissioner shall be entitled to the custody and possession of the same on behalf of the Federal Government and shall be responsible for its safeguarding and safekeeping.
(2) If the Commissioner decides not to retain such object, it shall be returned to the person who delivered it subject to any condition that may be imposed by the Commissioner.
(3) When an object is retained by the Commissioner or where in the opinion of the Commissioner that object should be safeguarded at the place where it was found, the Commissioner shall at his discretion pay a reasonable amount of compensation to—
(a) the finder;
(b) the owner of an alienated land in or on which the object was discovered; or
(c) the informant.

Pampasan bagi objek warisan tertentu
(1) Apabila dijumpai apa-apa objek yang mempunyai warisan kebudayaan yang penting, Pesuruhjaya adalah berhak kepada jagaan dan milikan objek itu bagi pihak Kerajaan Persekutuan dan hendaklah bertanggungjawab untuk melindungi dan menyimpannya dengan selamat.
(2) Jika Pesuruhjaya memutuskan untuk tidak menyimpan objek itu, objek itu hendaklah dipulangkan kepada orang yang menghantarkannya tertakluk kepada apa-apa syarat yang boleh dikenakan oleh Pesuruhjaya.
(3) Apabila suatu objek disimpan oleh Pesuruhjaya atau jika pada pendapat Pesuruhjaya bahawa objek itu patut dilindungi di tempat ia dijumpai, Pesuruhjaya hendaklah mengikut budi bicaranya membayar suatu amaun pampasan yang munasabah kepada—
(a) orang yang menjumpai;
(b) pemunya tanah beri hakmilik yang di dalamnya atau di atasnya objek itu dijumpai; atau
(c) pemberi maklumat.
