(1) The District Officer shall cause a notice to the finder or suspected finder or the owner or occupier of the place in which the treasure trove is discovered or other person claiming the treasure trove or any part of it requiring them to appear personally before the District Officer on a day and at a place mentioned in the notice for purpose of enquiring to determine—
(a) whether any object or article is treasure trove;
(b) the person by whom, the place at which, and the circumstances under which, such treasure trove was discovered; and
(c) as far as is possible, the person by whom, and the circumstances under which, such treasure trove was hidden.
(2) The rights of a person mentioned in subsection (1) over the treasure trove if they are found to be so are forfeited upon failure of that person to appear.

Pemberitahuan bagi siasatan
(1) Pegawai Daerah hendaklah menyebabkan suatu notis diberikan kepada orang yang menjumpai atau orang yang disyaki menjumpai atau pemunya atau penduduk tempat yang harta karun itu dijumpai atau orang lain yang menuntut harta karun atau manamana bahagiannya yang menghendaki mereka hadir sendiri di hadapan Pegawai Daerah pada hari dan di tempat yang disebut dalam notis itu bagi maksud menyiasat untuk menentukan—
(a) sama ada apa-apa objek atau benda ialah harta karun;
(b) orang yang olehnya, tempat di mana, dan hal keadaan yang di bawahnya, apa-apa harta karun itu dijumpai; dan
(c) seboleh-bolehnya orang yang olehnya, dan hal keadaan yang di bawahnya, apa-apa harta karun disembunyikan.
(2) Hak orang yang disebut dalam subseksyen (1) ke atas harta karun jika harta karun itu dijumpai sedemikian dilucuthakkan atas kegagalan orang itu untuk hadir.
