National Heritage Act 2005 s 9
(1) The functions of the Council shall be— (a) to advice the Minister and the Commissioner on all matters relating to heritage, and the due administration and enforcement of laws relating to heritage; and (b) to advice the Minister and the Commissioner on any matter referred to it by the Minister or the Commissioner. (2) The Minister and the Commissioner shall not be bound to act upon the advice of the Council.
Fungsi Majlis
(1) Fungsi Majlis adalah— (a) untuk menasihati Menteri dan Pesuruhjaya tentang segala perkara yang berhubungan dengan warisan, dan pentadbiran wajar dan penguatkuasaan undang-undang yang berhubungan dengan warisan; dan (b) untuk menasihati Menteri dan Pesuruhjaya tentang manamana perkara yang dirujukkan kepadanya oleh Menteri atau Pesuruhjaya. (2) Menteri dan Pesuruhjaya tidak terikat untuk bertindak atas nasihat Majlis.
