SECTION 1. The late Ponciano Reyes, judge of the Court of First Instance of Zamboanga, and Lucio Diuquillo, provincial treasurer of Masbate, who died in the performance of their official duties, are hereby considered retired in accordance with the provisions of Act Numbered Twenty-five hundred and eighty-nine, and for the purpose hereof, said retirement shall be as effective as if an application therefor had been filed before June thirty, nineteen hundred and sixteen, and as if the same had been acted upon favorably prior to the dates of their death.
