Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 13th March 1997.

Section 2 Interpretation of section 19 of the Jobseekers Act 1995 and Part V of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996

(1) Regulation 75 of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996 shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation.

(2) In paragraph (1)(a)(iii), the word “and” shall be deleted where it occurs on the second occasion.

(3) After paragraph (1)(a)(iii) there shall be inserted the following head—

(iiia) Jobfinder, being a programme of up to 7 interviews to give advaice, support and guidance in jobsearch and with emphasis on obtaining employment as soon as possible; and
