Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Special Health Authorities (Duty of Quality) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.

(2) These Regulations extend to England only.

Section 2 Extension of the duty of quality

The duty in section 18 of the Health Act 1999 (duty of quality) shall extend to the following Special Health Authorities–

(a) the National Blood Authority ;

(b) the Ashworth Hospital Authority ;

(c) the Broadmoor Hospital Authority ;

(d) the Rampton Hospital Authority .
