The Gloucestershire (Electoral Changes) Order 2012
(1) This Order, with the exception of articles 5 to 9, comes into force—
(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the elections of councillors for county electoral divisions, on 15th October 2012;
(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2013.
(2) Articles 5 to 9 come into force—
(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the elections of parish councillors on 15th October 2014;
(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2015.
In this Order—
“map” means the map marked “Map referred to in the Gloucestershire (Electoral Changes) Order 2012”, of which prints are available for inspection at the principal office of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England;
“ordinary day of election of councillors” has the meaning given by section 37 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 .
(1) The existing electoral divisions of the county of Gloucestershire are abolished.
(2) The county is divided into fifty-three electoral divisions each bearing a name listed in the Schedule.
(3) Each electoral division comprises the area designated on the map by reference to the name of the electoral division.
(4) One councillor is to be elected for each electoral division.
(5) Where a boundary is shown on the map as running along a road, railway line, footway, watercourse or similar geographical feature, it is to be treated as running along the centre line of the feature.
(1) The parish of Cainscross is divided into four wards named respectively—
(a) Cainscross;
(b) Cashes Green East;
(c) Cashes Green West;
(d) Ebley.
(2) Each ward comprises the area designated on the map by reference to the name of the ward.
(3) Four councillors are to be elected for Cashes Green West ward.
(4) Three councillors are to be elected for each of the following wards:
(a) Cashes Green East;
(b) Ebley.
(5) Two councillors are to be elected for Cainscross ward.
(1) The existing wards of the parish of Cinderford are abolished.
(2) The parish is divided into three wards named respectively—
(a) Cinderford East;
(b) Cinderford North;
(c) Cinderford West.
(3) Each ward comprises the area designated on the map by reference to the name of the ward.
(4) Eight councillors are to be elected for Cinderford West ward.
(5) Six councillors are to be elected for Cinderford East ward.
(6) One councillor is to be elected for Cinderford North ward.
(1) The parish of Mitcheldean is divided into two wards named respectively—
(a) Mitcheldean North;
(b) Mitcheldean South.
(2) Each ward comprises the area designated on the map by reference to the name of the ward.
(3) Nine councillors are to be elected for Mitcheldean North ward.
(4) One councillor is to be elected for Mitcheldean South ward.
(1) The existing wards of the parish of Quedgeley are abolished.
(2) The parish is divided into four wards named respectively—
(a) Quedgeley Brook;
(b) Quedgeley Central;
(c) Quedgeley Fieldcourt;
(d) Quedgeley Severn Vale.
(3) Each ward comprises the area designated on the map by reference to the name of the ward.
(4) Five councillors are to be elected for each of the following wards:
(a) Quedgeley Central;
(b) Quedgeley Fieldcourt;
(c) Quedgeley Severn Vale.
(5) One councillor is to be elected for Quedgeley Brook ward.
(1) The parish of Ruspidge and Soudley is divided into two wards named respectively—
(a) Ruspidge and Soudley East;
(b) Ruspidge and Soudley West.
(2) Each ward comprises the area designated on the map by reference to the name of the ward.
(3) Seven councillors are to be elected for Ruspidge and Soudley West ward.
(4) Two councillors are to be elected for Ruspidge and Soudley East ward.
