Section 1 Citation, interpretation and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (Commencement No. 5 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2022.

(2) In these Regulations a reference to a section or Schedule by number alone means the section or Schedule so numbered in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Section 2 Commencement of provisions on 21st July 2022

The following provisions come into force on 21st July 2022—

(a) section 65 (prohibition of cross-examination in person in family proceedings);

(b) section 66 (prohibition of cross-examination in person in civil proceedings).

Section 3 Transitional provision

Sections 65 and 66 do not apply in relation to proceedings which were started before 21st July 2022.
