Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (Codes of Practice) (Revision of Code A) Order 2023 and comes into force on 17th January 2023.

(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.

Section 2 Revisions of code of practice

The revised code of practice laid before Parliament together with this Order in connection with the matters referred to in section 66(1)(a)(i) and (ii) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (exercise by police officers of statutory powers to search persons and vehicles without making an arrest – Code A) comes into operation on the day on which this Order comes into force.
