Section 1 Citation and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 (Commencement No. 1) Regulations 2023.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland.

Section 2 Interpretation

In these Regulations—

“ the 1996 Act ” means the Employment Rights Act 1996 ; and

“ the 2023 Act ” means the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023.

Section 3 Provisions coming into force on 31st July 2023

The following provisions of the 2023 Act come into force on 31st July 2023—

(a) sections 1 to 8, for the purpose only of enabling the Secretary of State to issue a code of practice under section 27P of the 1996 Act, as inserted by section 9 of the 2023 Act;

(b) section 9; and

(c) sections 10 to 12, for the purpose only of enabling the Secretary of State to issue a code of practice under section 27P of the 1996 Act, as inserted by section 9 of the 2023 Act.
