Section 1Citation, commencement and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Guidance on Detention of Vulnerable Persons) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 21st May 2024.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Section 2Guidance

The guidance entitled “Immigration Act 2016: Revised guidance on adults at risk in immigration detention”, a draft of which was laid before Parliament on 30th April 2024 by the Secretary of State under section 59(4) of the Immigration Act 2016, comes into force on 21st May 2024.
