Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Firearms (Variation of Fees) Order 2026 and comes into force on 4th June 2026.

(2) This Order extends to England and Wales and Scotland.

Section 2 Variation of fees for firearm and shot gun certificates

In section 32(1) of the Firearms Act 1968 (fees for certificate and exemption from paying it in certain cases)—

(a) in paragraph (a), for “£198” substitute “£204” ;

(b) in paragraph (b), for “£131” substitute “£135” ;

(c) in paragraph (c), for “£47” substitute “£48” ;

(d) in paragraph (d), for “£194” substitute “£200” ;

(e) in paragraph (e), for “£126” substitute “£130” .

Section 3 Variation of fees for registration as a firearms dealer

In section 35 of the Firearms Act 1968 (fee for registration and renewal thereof)—

(a) in subsection (1), for “£466” substitute “£480” ;

(b) in subsection (1A), for “£30” substitute “£31” ;

(c) in subsection (3), for “£466” substitute “£480” .

Section 4 Variation of fees for co-terminous certificates

In section 11(3) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 (grant of co-terminous certificates)—

(a) in paragraph (b), for “£71” substitute “£73” ;

(b) in paragraph (d), for “£24” substitute “£25” .

Section 5 Variation of fees for visitors’ permits

In section 17(8) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 (visitors’ permits)—
