(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Code of Conduct (Non-Qualifying Local Government Employees) (Wales) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 28 July 2001.
(2) These Regulations apply to Wales only.
In these Regulations —
“ the Act ” (“ y Ddeddf ”) means the Local Government Act 2000;
“firefighter” (“ diffoddwr tân ”) means a person who is a member of a fire brigade maintained by a fire authority and whose conditions of service involve a liability to engage in fire-fighting within the meaning of section 38(1) of the Fire Services Act 1947 ;
“fire authority” (“ awdurdod tân ”) means an authority which for the time being is constituted a fire authority by the Fire Services Act 1947 or any combination scheme made thereunder;
“teacher” (“ athro neu athrawes ”) means a person who is employed as a teacher by a Local Education Authority.
The following descriptions of employee are specified for the purposes of section 82(8) of the Act —
(a) a firefighter, and
(b) a teacher.
