Section 1 Title, commencement and application

(1) The title of these Regulations is the Education (Assisted Places) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2006 and they come into force on 23 November 2006.

(2) Regulation 3 applies in relation to Wales in respect of a relevant remission question.

(3) In paragraph (2) above, “relevant remission question” means a remission question under the Education (Assisted Places) Regulations 1997 and which—

(a) arises in respect of a school year beginning on or after 1 September 2006; and

(b) has not been determined at the date on which these Regulations come into force.

Section 2 Amendment of the Education (Assisted Places) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2005

At the end of paragraph (3) of regulation 1 of the Education (Assisted Places) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2005 , there is inserted “provided that the question is not one referred to paragraph (3) of regulation 1 of the Education (Assisted Places) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2006”.

Section 3 Amendment of the Education (Assisted Places) Regulations 1997

(1) The Education (Assisted Places) Regulations 1997 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 10(4) and (6), substitute “£1,625” for “£1,575” in each place where it appears.

(3) In paragraph 1 of Schedule 2, substitute “£12,470” for “£12,182”.

(4) For the table following paragraph 2(1) of that Schedule substitute the following table—
