Section 1Title, application and commencement

The title of this Order is the Specified Animal Pathogens (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2009. It applies in relation to Wales and comes into force on 22 December 2009.

Section 2Amendment to the Specified Animal Pathogens (Wales) Order 2008

The Specified Animal Pathogens (Wales) Order 2008 is amended as set out in this Order.

Section 3Amendment to the Specified Animal Pathogens (Wales) Order 2008

In Part 1 of Schedule 1 (specified animal pathogens) after 34 (Peste des petits ruminants virus) insert—

(34A) Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome virus genotype 2

Section 4Amendment to the Specified Animal Pathogens (Wales) Order 2008

In paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 (seizure of pathogens) after sub-paragraph (2) insert—

(3) Sub-paragraphs (1) and (2) do not apply in the case of the pathogen known as Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome virus genotype 2.
