Section 1 Title and commencement

The title of these Regulations is the Education (School Day and School Year) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and they come into force on 24 February 2012.

Section 2 Amendment of Regulations

The Education (School Day and School Year) (Wales) Regulations 2003 are amended as follows.

Section 3 Amendment of Regulations

In regulation 5 for paragraph (1) substitute—

(1) This paragraph applies to any school session falling within the school year 2011—2012 which is devoted (wholly or mainly) to improving teaching standards or management practices of staff at the school with a view to improving or assessing the literacy and numeracy skills of pupils at a maintained school.
