Section 1 Title and commencement

The title of this Order is the Swansea Metropolitan University Higher Education Corporation (Dissolution) Order 2013 and it comes into force on 1 August 2013.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“the Swansea Metropolitan Corporation” (“ Corfforaeth Fetropolitan Abertawe ”) means the Swansea Metropolitan University Higher Education Corporation.

Section 3 Dissolution of Swansea Metropolitan University

On 1 August 2013 the Swansea Metropolitan Corporation is dissolved and all of its property, rights and liabilities are transferred to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

Section 4 Dissolution of Swansea Metropolitan University

Section 127 of the Education Reform Act 1988 applies to any person employed by the Swansea Metropolitan Corporation immediately before 1 August 2013 as if references in that section to—

(a) a person to whom that section applies were to a person so employed;

(b) the transfer date were to 1 August 2013;

(c) the transferor authority were to the Swansea Metropolitan Corporation;

(d) the corporation were to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
