Section 1Title, commencement, application and interpretation

(1) The title of these Regulations is the Education (Remission of Charges Relating to Residential Trips) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and they come into force on 15 November 2013.

(2) These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.

(3) In these Regulations—

“the 2003 Regulations ” (“ Rheoliadau 2003 ”) means the Education (Remission of Charges Relating to Residential Trips) (Wales) Regulations 2003 .

Section 2Amendment

In regulation 2 of the 2003 Regulations (interpretation) in the appropriate place in the alphabetical order, insert—

“universal credit” (“ credyd cynhwysol ”) means universal credit under Part 1 of the Welfare Reform Act 2012 .

Section 3Amendment

After regulation 5 of the 2003 Regulations insert—

Prescribed circumstances: receipt of universal credit

(6) The circumstances that are prescribed for the purposes of section 457(4)(b)(ai) of the 1996 Act are that the pupil’s parent is in receipt of universal credit on or after 15 November 2013.
