Section 1 Title

The title of this Order is the Tertiary Education and Research (Wales) Act 2022 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2022.

Section 2 Provisions coming into force on 15 December 2022

The following provisions of the Tertiary Education and Research (Wales) Act 2022 come into force on 15 December 2022—

(a) section 1 (establishment of the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research);

(b) section 9(2) to (5), (7) and (8) (promoting tertiary education through the medium of Welsh);

(c) in Schedule 1 (Commission for Tertiary Education and Research)—

(i) paragraphs 1 and 2;

(ii) paragraph 3;

(iii) paragraph 4(1)(a) and (c);

(iv) paragraph 5(1) and (2);

(v) paragraph 7(1) and (2);

(vi) paragraph 10(1), (3), (4) and (7);

(vii) paragraph 11(1) only for the purpose of appointing the chair of the Research and Innovation Committee, and (2);

(viii) paragraph 12.
