s 20 Provision for entrenching enactments
After section 86A of the 1998 Act insert— Provision for entrenching enactments (86B) (1) Her Majesty may by Order in Council make provision amending section 7 so as to provide for— (a) enactments to become entrenched; or (b) enactments that are entrenched by virtue of an Order under paragraph (a) to cease to be entrenched. (2) For the purposes of this section an enactment is entrenched if section 7 prevents it from being modified by an Act of the Assembly or subordinate legislation made, confirmed or approved by a Minister or Northern Ireland department. (3) No recommendation shall be made to Her Majesty to make an Order under this section unless a draft of it has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
