AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETEEN, EXTENDING THE PROVISIONS OF THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT ACT AND ITS AMENDMENTS FOR THE PROVINCE OF SAMAR, BY INCREASING THE SALARY OF THE PROVINCIAL TREASURER TO TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS PER ANNUM, AND CONFIRMING AUTHORITY GRANTED BY OF THE PHILIPPINE COMMISSION OF JANUARY FOURTH, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND SIX, FOR THE PAYMENT OF ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FROM THE WRIGHT-TAFT ROAD FUND TO THE SAID TREASURER FOR HIS SERVICES AS DISBURSING OFFICER OF THE SAID ROAD.

Section 1

SECTION 1. Act Numbered Four hundred and nineteen, extending the provisions of the Provincial Government Act and its amendments to the Province of Samar, is hereby amended by striking out the words "For the provincial treasurer, one thousand five hundred dollars," in section two of said Act, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "For the provincial treasurer, two thousand dollars."

Section 2

SEC. 2. The provisions of the resolution of the Philippine Commission of January fourth, nineteen hundred and six, authorizing the payment to Arthur G. Whittier, provincial treasurer of Samar, of additional compensation at the rate of one thousand pesos per annum for his services as disbursing officer of the Wright-Taft Road from March third, nineteen hundred and five, from funds appropriated for the construction of said road, are hereby confirmed: Provided, That the payment of such additional compensation shall terminate on August thirty-first, nineteen hundred and six.

Section 3

SEC. 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 4

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on September first, nineteen hundred and six.
