f you would like to provide online service of Taiwan pop music in the United States, such act will involve copyright holders’ exclusive “Right to reproduce” and “Right of public transmission” of “Musical Work” and “Sound Recordings.” Generally, you need to get each right holder’s permission. However, to satisfy your massive demands for authorization, we advise you could consult the“Collective Management Organizations (CMOs)” and record labels (please refer to appendix). Many copyright holders would have CMOs help them manage the “Right of public transmission.” As to the “Right to Reproduce”, it mostly belongs to the music publishers or record labels. Also, you may visit http://tipo.ltc.tw/Music/User/SongSearchAdvance first to get information about the songs and right holders. As to “Musical Work”, the Taiwan CMO “MÜST” has cooperated with US CMOs, such as“ASCAP”,” BMI” and “SEASAC”. The three CMOs could grant permission on behalf of“MÜST” to users in the US. We suggest that you can contact them first.
