The Police (Northern Ireland) Order 2001

Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Police (Northern Ireland) Order 2001 and comes into force on 30th July 2001.

(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 .

Section 2

At any time before section 2 of the Act comes into force section 41 of the Act has effect as if references in it to the Board were references to the Police Authority for Northern Ireland.

Section 3

For section 76(4) of the Act there is substituted—

(4) No statutory rule may be made under section 47(3) or 54 unless a draft of the rule has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament
