(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (3) of section 2 of the Development of Tourism Act 1969, the powers of the National Assembly for Wales under the other provisions of section 2 of that Act shall include the power to carry on any activities outside the United Kingdom for the purpose of encouraging people to visit Wales.

(3) Nothing in this section shall—
(a) affect the power of the British Tourist Authority to carry on any activities outside the United Kingdom for the purpose of encouraging people to visit Wales; or
(b) prevent the National Assembly for Wales from acting on behalf of the Authority as mentioned in section 2(3) of the Development of Tourism Act 1969.
