Section 1Short title, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Factories Act, 1937 (Extension of Section 46) Regulations, 1948, and shall come into operation on the 26th day of April, 1948.

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889, shall apply to the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 2Extension of the matters to which section 46 of the Act applies

The matters to which section 46 of the Act (which empowers the Minister to make welfare regulations) applies shall include arrangements for canteens.
