Section 1 Citation and Commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Visiting Forces (Royal New Zealand Air Force) (Amendment) Order, 1956.

(2) This Order and the Visiting Forces (Royal New Zealand Air Force) Order, 1940 , may be cited together as the Visiting Forces (Royal New Zealand Air Force) Orders, 1940 and 1956.

(3) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1957.

Section 2 Interpretation

The Interpretation Act, 1889, applies to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 3 Amendments to Order

(1) In the preamble to the Visiting Forces (Royal New Zealand Air Force) Order, 1940, for the words “subject to the Air Force Act as an officer or airman” there shall be substituted the words “subject to air-force law” .

(2) For the other references in the said preamble to “the Air Force Act” and for the reference in Article 1 of the said Order to “the Air Force Act” there shall be substituted references to “the Air Force Act, 1955” .
