These regulations, which may be cited as the National Insurance (Members of the Forces) Amendment Regulations 1969, shall be read as one with the National Insurance (Members of the Forces) Regulations 1968 (hereinafter referred to as “ the principal regulations ”) and shall come into operation on the 3rd November 1969.

The National Insurance (Members of the Forces) Amendment Regulations 1969
In regulation 5 of the principal regulations (special provisions concerning graduated contributions), for paragraphs (3) and (4) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—
(3) As respects an employed person (being a serving member of the forces), the statutory provisions specified in column (1) of Schedule 4 to these regulations shall apply in relation to his employment as a serving member of the forces subject to the modifications shown in relation thereto in column (3) of that Schedule, so however that the said modifications shall be disregarded for the purposes of section 58 of the Act (payments in lieu of contributions).
For the provisions set out in Schedules 3 (reduction of weekly rates of flat-rate contributions), 4 (statutory provisions applying to graduated contributions which are modified in their application to employment as a serving member of the forces) and 5 (scale of graduated contributions) to the principal regulations, there shall respectively be substituted the provisions set out in Schedules 1, 2 and 3 to these regulations; and immediately after the said Schedule 5 as so substituted, there shall be inserted as Schedule 5A the Schedule set out in Schedule 4 to these regulations.
