Section 1Citation, interpretation and commencement

This Scheme, which may be cited as the War Pensions (Mercantile Marine) (Amendment) Scheme 1972, amends the War Pensions (Mercantile Marine) Scheme 1964 (hereinafter referred to as “ the principal Scheme ”), and shall come into operation on 2nd October 1972.

Section 2Revocation of Article 20 of the principal Scheme

Article 20 of the principal Scheme (awards on death) is hereby revoked.
