Section 1

This order may be cited as the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1974.

Section 2

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 3

The following provisions of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 namely—

(a) section 108(1), so far as it applies to paragraphs 1 to 4 of Schedule 3 (which make minor and consequential amendments of the Alkali, &c. Works Regulation Act 1906), and

(b) section 108(2), so far as it applies to repeals effected by Schedule 4 to the Alkali, &c. Works Regulation Act 1906,

shall come into operation on 1st January 1975.
