These Rules may be cited as the Patents (Amendment No. 4) Rules 1975 and shall come into operation on 1st August 1975, except in the case of Rule 3 which shall do so on 1st November 1975.

The Patents (Amendment No. 4) Rules 1975
The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of these Rules as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament and as if these Rules and the Rules hereby revoked were Acts of Parliament.
On 1st November 1975, for Schedule 1 to the Patents Rules 1968 , as amended , there shall be substituted the Schedule hereto and the Patents (Amendment) Rules 1975 shall thereupon be revoked.
Where on or after 1st August 1975 but before 1st November 1975 a request is made for the sealing of a patent in respect of which the complete specification has not been accepted before 1st August 1975, the fee payable on such a request shall be that which would be payable if the request were made on or after 1st November 1975 and Rule 3 of these Rules had come into operation.
Where on or after 1st August 1975 but before 1st November 1975 an application is made for a certificate of payment of a patent renewal fee in respect of any year beginning on or after 1st November 1975, the fee payable upon such application shall be that which would be payable if the application were made on or after 1st November 1975 and Rule 3 of these Rules had come into operation.
